Welcome to the writings of Wendy Maxon.

About me

  • As a kid who grew up watching Twilight Zone marathons on Thanksgiving, Wendy Maxon became obsessed with weird, eerie stories and sharp satirical critiques. She ran with both concepts and has never looked back.
  • Wendy earned her PhD in History in 2002 and currently teaches history, Humanities, and creative writing classes at the high school level. In June 2020 she received her MFA in Creative Writing at the University of California, Riverside-Palm Desert.
  • In her free time, she loves to dance and visit art galleries—the stranger, the better.

My Writing

  • I write in the liminal space that spans horror, sci-fi, thriller, and weird fiction. My characters are often at odds with their surrounding societies.
